###### How do I use my charger?

###### How does the Electrum system work?
Upon installation of your charger, you will receive an RFID Fob to create an account on the Electrum Platform for paying your electrical consumption. Electrum utilizes a wallet-based system similar to the BC Transit Compass Card, connecting it to your credit card for billing processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment provider. You will have access to view all transactions and charging sessions on your personal online portal. Optional auto-reload for streamlined payments.
###### How much will it cost to charge my electric vehicle? Are there any additional setup or monthly fees?
Your parking lot owner (often a strata) sets the price to charge your vehicle. This price varies from location to location. Electrum operates on a “user pay for use” system, charging a set rate per kilowatt/hour determined by the site. With this system, you only pay for the power you consume, without any annual or monthly fees. Consequently, if you own a charger but do not use it, there are no charges. For an average driver covering 10,000 KMs annually, the estimated cost for electricity is around $450 per year, resulting in potential savings of approximately $2,500 per year compared to a gas-powered vehicle.
###### Technology is constantly evolving, do we need to pay for upgrades or updates?
Electrum chargers are connected to the building's WiFi (paid via site) and receive regular software updates as necessary. The fees for basic power distribution and billing are covered. However, additional costs may apply for special features within the Electrum Platform that offer potential cost-saving benefits in the future, based on the site's assessment of their value to the building.
###### Is my electric vehicle compatible with the Electrum Charging Platform?
Indeed, all electric vehicles in North America are compatible with Electrum chargers. Tesla EVs will require a J1772 adapter, which is included with the purchase of your vehicle.
###### I already own a charger – Can I bring my own?
Unfortunately, bringing your own charger is not possible due to compatibility concerns with third-party EV chargers and the charging system, which could lead to power distribution issues within the building.

###### Are you committed to using the Electrum Platform indefinitely? What if we are dissatisfied with their service?
Electrum aims to be a reliable long-term platform provider for your site, with a 2-year contract term. Following this period, the site has the option to switch to another OCPP provider; however, re-provisioning of the building's existing chargers would be necessary with the new provider.

### Site Assessment
One of our estimators will attend your site to assess the site-specific installation logistics.
### Quoting
We'll provide a quote for the work, let you know of any rebates your site qualifies for, and you decide if you would like to proceed.
### Scope of work
When you decide to proceed, a scope of work is drafted for your project.
### Rebates
Electrum takes care of the rebate application, so you don't have to.
### Procurement & Permitting
Once a deposit is made all required materials and permits will be obtained.
### Installation
Our team of Red Seal and EVITP certified electricians will attend to install the necessary infrastructure and charging hardware.
### Onboarding
Our team provides a digital welcome package to homeowners, helping streamline the getting started process.
### Ongoing Monitoring & Support
Remote monitoring and remote support is included for all Electrum Cloud Platform customers.
### Carbon Credits
Every year, Electrum submits for carbon credits based on the energy dispensed at your location.
